Self-Care Tip:
Breakfast At Norma's
An early morning breakfast at Norma's at The Parker Palm Springs is a stylishly bright spot with a tempting menu. The brightly colored open-air Terrace restaurant that serves breakfast all day and night.
Calling to make a reservation is always the best policy to make sure you have a table. Another great spot for portraits with sophisticated bright backgrounds with a casual feel. The French toast topped with Rice Krispies caught my eye on Julia Ralston's blog where this and many other great photos can be found. (Thanks Julia!) There is also an outdoor juice bar/ lemonade stand.
Morning Key Notes At Alt Summit

She is best known as the co-host of TLC’s hugely popular show, What Not to Wear for 10 years, and most recently hosted 3 seasons of Love Lust or Run which she also executive produced. Minka Kelly
Minka Kelly is an actress. She also is a spokesperson, designer and supporter of Able who includes outreach to women in need in various countries in the world. Able's founder Barrett Ward launched the brand in 2010. What makes their workplaces for women different in places like Peru and Ethiopia is that they offer job opportunity in dignified safe conditions to women in need including those coming out of the commercial sex industry. For the conference, Able partnered with Alt Summit to offer a bag design content (open to all) (I entered...). The entry date for submissions has past. You can take part in the voting phase: May 14 -20, 2018. Winners will be announced by May 31st.
Sherwin-Williams, another Alt Summit sponsor had an incredible booth to style items for flat lay photography. Alt attendees also got to play with the newest paint colors. Poleroid pictures were taken and given out to attendees.
Lunch At Birba
This quick lunch spot offers fresh, locally sourced, farm to fork food on a tree filled patio. The healthy salads and egg pancetta pictured below got my attention. Birba is a favorite spot for pizza, pasta, salads and other causal but refined Italian food.
Self-Care Tip:
While on vacation, take self portraits with creative backgrounds. This fun exercise helps you capture the essence of the trip.
Inside, the conference hosted learning segments in all of the hotel's public spaces. Speeches, round tables, and presentations were held throughout the conference to help attendees with different aspects of design and business. The Saguaro Hotel provided irresistible happy creative backdrops for photos.
Dinner At The Workshop
Self-Care Tip:
Visit a magical restaurant with ambiance. Let yourself be delighted...
The Workshop, a must see when in Palm Springs. With it's combination of clear modern interiors featuring clean white walls, poured concrete and artistic wooden ceiling the mixed media artist in media was intrigued. The atmosphere was romantically punctuated with lighting that mimics fairy lights at warm garden party. (OK I am just going to say we loved it!)
Try the gourmet basil pizza on an authentic Italian style thin crust...
In contrast, The Workshop's outdoor patio is in a romantic courtyard that has captured the more of the historical Spanish flavor. Still marrying traditional with modern, the local plants and cosy heating towers make this beautiful restaurant an upscale must see.
